2013 Mercedes SLS AMG GT debuts as F1 Safety Car

Mercedes released photos and details on the SLS AMG GT model prepared for the F1 Championship. The German supercar will debut as the new F1 Safety Car at the Singapore Grand Prix.

However, we also got the opportunity to see the new model in action at the Shell Belgian Grand Prix. Power is provided by a tweaked 6.2-liter V8 engine which delivers 583 horsepower.

Exterior styling features of the new Mercedes SLS AMG GT Safety car include new safety lights, new F1 graphics, a rear silencer, new seats with six-point harnesses and revised optical blocks.
