New Porsche 918 Spyder hits the Nürburgring

The Germans from Porsche officially announced that the upcoming 918 Spyder arrived at the famous Nürburgring circuit for a lap.

The model in question is a powerful hybrid motivated by a 4.6-liter V8 engine and two electric motors for a total output of around 760 horsepower.

With such resources, the Porsche 918 Spyder sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 second while the top speed exceeds 325 km/h.

Porsche says that the model which lapped the German circuit is a prototype variant, therefore, it might be a little bit different comparing to the production model.

However, the German hybrid supercar managed to obtain a lap time of 7 minutes and 14 seconds.

According to Porsche, the prototype present at the circuit was fitted with high-performance Michelin tires but also with a so-called Weissach Package, an optional feature which will be available on the production model and, most probably, improves the performance.
