The 2014 Buick Verano is an entry-level compact luxury sedan tasked primarily with snaring up young drivers, with high hopes they’ll stick with the brand. The Verano compact luxury sedan is offered in four trim levels: Verano, Verano Convenience Group, Verano Leather Group, and Verano Premium Group.

Verano comes with 18-inch wheels, foglights, cruise control, remote engine start, dual-zone automatic climate control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a 7-inch touch screen, Bluetooth connectivity, OnStar, satellite radio.

The Convenience Group adds a blind-spot warning system and rear parking sensors, while the Leather Group adds a push-start button, leather upholstery with heated seats for front passengers, and a premium Bose audio system.

These models have an Ecotec 2.4-liter engine that makes 180 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque with a six-speed automatic transmission with manual mode. Achieves 21/32 mpg city/highway.

The Verano Premium Group is the Turbo model, which is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-four that produces 250 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. That power is sent to the Verano’s front wheels via a six-speed automatic, though a six-speed manual is optional. The Turbo model achieves 21/30 mpg for those with the automatic transmission, and 20/31 mpg for those with the manual.
