It is the second time for Cadillac CTS to be the winner of the Motor Trend Car Competition, at the 2014 edition, outperforming its high class great performers, Mazda3 and the Cadillac`s cousin, the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

With this performance, Cadillac CTS managed to make its way onto the midsize luxury sedan market, with a longer and also lower chassis than its predecessor Cadillac ATS.

The 2014 Cadillac ELR

The Cadillac ELR it is a good looking car that will do zero to 100 km/h in only 8 seconds. The claimed electric range is about 50 kilometers before the gasoline engine fires up seamlessly to provide a range-extending power for the motor system and traction-motor support at higher speeds, too.

Cadillac cooked has a steering-wheel-mounted paddles that allow the driver to manually engage the propulsion system’s high-regen mode. Underhood there is a T-shaped, 288-cell, 16.5-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, 1.4-liter Ecotec four-cylinder. The motor delivers: 207 HP, 154 kW. A complete recharge is necessary in 4.5 hours on 240-volt power.

The interior has an interesting and modern design direction: CUE system, conventional luxury-car appointments such as leather, wood, and carbon fiber.
The price is unknown yet.

2013 Cadillac ATS gets 33mpg fuel economy

Cadillac presents today the EPA-estimated fuel economy figures for the 2013 ATS sedan, a model which is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit offering 202 horsepower.

It is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission and promises a fuel consumption of 22mpg (city) and 33mpg (highway) which translates into a combined economy of 26mpg.

If you want more power, there is a 2.0-liter turbocharged unit with 272 horsepower and fuel consumption numbers of 21mpg (city) and 31mpg (highway).
